Da ich auch aus der Diktatur der DDR komme, verstehe ich nicht, dass die Mehrzahl der Amerikaner von der Demokratie schrittweise fort will, wie mir scheint.
Since I also come from the dictatorship of the GDR, I do not understand why the majority of Americans want to gradually move away from democracy, it seems to me.
I read this on Nov. 7, after the unthinkable has happened. I'm trying to reconcile my fears with hope and what will be my best way to continue under this _______(I'm at a loss for words) administration.
Lighting a candle with your prayer will be a help.
Kathleen, I am glad you are here with us. Do let us not give up hope that there is some wisdom in the electoral process even if we sometimes have no words for it. Let’s light candles for hope and peace together. And let evil not distract us from doing good.
I light a candle
for hope to prevail
I light a candle
for the freedom of the people
for hearts moved
and minds changed
I light a candle
for peace around us
and within us
I light a candle for my heart
to be at rest once more.
I light a candle
for truth
for reconciliation
for democracy
for enlightenment
for refuge, welcome, and sanctuary for the immigrant
for hope and defense for the persecuted
for open eyes and compassion for all who suffer
and for our own eyes that we can truly see others, and be ourselves healed.
Thank you Almut, for making all these prayers possible.
I light a candle
For hope to prevail
I light a candle
For the freedom of the people
For hearts moved
And minds changed
I light a candle
For peace around us
And within us
I light a candle
For my heart to be at rest once more.

Wir verstehen es auch nicht. We do not understand it either.
I lit candles here in Burnaby, BC, Canada 🇨🇦
Thank you, Marjun.

Blessings to you always.
Thank you for tonight’s message. I’m lighting candles and pausing for a time of reflection.
