Being seen as who we are and being listened to is peace work. We are all the heart of Christ. I look forward to your Lenten series!

Debbie, I so agree. Being seen is a healing gift and indeed peace work. May we see more and listen better. Looking forward having you with us during Lent!

Thank you for sharing yourself—who and how you are. It gives others permission to speak, some who have been silent too long. We all need to be heard and seen.

Yes, Nancy, and thank you! I hope this place will be a place to be seen and to see oneself clearer 🥰

I enjoy the teachings of Meister Eckhart, too. Yes, Lent just really does have its way with us. The lessons this season is willing to teach us are comforting and bring us closer to “God” if we give them the chance. Here’s to every beautiful soul in the world….oh how blessed we are to know we are one of those souls in the collective of all❣️

Oh Almut! I teared up reading your comment on my essay, but was full on bawling as I read your post here. I am so touched that you highlighted my work here and made it even richer with your beautiful (as always) reflections. Also, I hope you feel better soon!

I would like to use your sentence about consolation in the noonday prayers for tomorrow for a women's prayer group I'm in. May I?

This struck me: "We've got an epidemic of loneliness out there. I can't help but wonder if one way to transfigure this world might be through listening ears and attentive eyes.” Feel better, Almut!

Wishing you well as you deal with your 'bugs'. God bless and heal quickly. Love Sally

Sally, that is so lovely of you thinking of me and the bug which brought me down. 🦠 Laying in bed being served tea is not too bad a thing fortunately. Lots of reading I can do! Blessings and love to you, too 🥰

Thank you, Marian, well it was the time of the last election I guess. Our little one did not really read The Times by than :-) Honestly I would prefer old Joe as a role model for my daughter if asked over the other guy, you not? I also bet Joe could tell her bible stories in a heart beat. Not sure about the other guy. You are right love is a good place to judge the hearts. So we would always prefer a man who bowes before God to a man who boosts to be like God. In a pastor, friend or president.

Other than this the photo was not meant as political statement, my daughter grows up speaking German and still prefers her bible stories over politics 😇. Much blessings to you.

o no, I have no idea what happened! This was not meant to happen, Marian . I took time to answer your kind comment but somehow must have clicked the wrong button here when trying to edit my own comment. Trying to figure out how to rescue it!

You wrote about your hope that we teach our child bible stories and the Love of God and that the current president would not be the best role model for her. You said it nicer though :-)

So sorry!

Oh. I am constantly reading bible stories to Hannah from a great picture book of bible stories our pastor, Rachel, gave her. It is her favorite book. Her favorite stories change over time. These days she likes David and Goliath and Jesus blessing the children. But she also likes Adam and Eve, Jesus choosing the disciples, the ten Lepers, Noah, and especially, Hannah and Samuel. Her all time favorite is the good Samaritan, which she calls the story of the poor traveler.

Thank you for reading to our child 🥰

Oh Dear. Blame the interface. Really. I teach human-computer interaction (or what these days is called user experience). When something goes wrong it is usually because the interface did not make it clear what to do (or to avoid). I can immediately think of 2 changes to the interface that might have avoided this. My students could generate more. Short lesson: have mercy on each other and especially on those who have to use computers.
